Weekly Meditation and Dharma Study Group Tuesdays 7:00-9:30 PM in the UUC Social Hall "The Way of the Bodhisattva" by Santideva
All UUs and the genreral public are welcome to join our sangha gathering for sitting and walking meditation and the study of classical Buddhist literature. Beginners and advanced practitioners deepen their understanding of the nature of awakening by regular "together practice" and meaningful discussion of the Buddhist path. We are currently studying the Bodhicaryavatara of Santideva, the 8th century Indian scholar and sage. It is a favorite book of HH the Dalai Lama. We are slowly comparing and contrasting both Sanskrit and Tibetan translations and commentaries to learn as much as we can about the "way of the bodhisattva". A "bodhisattva" is a being just like ourselves who is devoted to liberating others from suffering as she or he strives for their own awakening like a buddha! $5 free will donation per meeting to cover costs & mission. Tea. Vegetarian refreshments.
